Museu Egipci de Barcelona (Egyptian Museum)

The Clos Archaeological Foundation - Museu Egipci de Barcelona (Egyptian Museum of Barcelona) is one of Europe’s most important private collections of Egyptian art and culture and continuously researches, studies and spreads knowledge on ancient Egypt.

More than 2,000 m2 of gallery space showcase almost one thousand exhibits, including sarcophagi, mummies, jewelry and amulets, to give us a greater understanding of everyday life and the prevailing customs of the ancient civilization of the Pharaohs.

The Museu Egipci de Barcelona runs guided tours of its collections led by Egyptologists, which are essential in order to give visitors a greater understanding and knowledge of Egyptian culture and civilization. 

In addition to the permanent collections and the temporary exhibitions, the museum also organizes other activities that enable visitors to enjoy the collections in a fun and entertaining way. These activities include nighttime guided tours featuring re-enactments of scenes by actors. Another of the activities is the Eternal Banquet, a guided tour focusing on Egyptian cuisine, which gives visitors the opportunity to taste products that formed part of the diet of this ancient civilization.

• Monday to Saturday from 10.00 a.m. to 8.00 p.m.
• Sunday, from 10.00 a.m. to 2.00 p.m.
• From 8 January to 21 June and 12 September to 30 November, closed from 2.00 p.m. to 4.00 p.m.
• Closed: 1 January, 6 January,  25 & 26 December
