The segway is the first two-wheeled self-balancing personal transportation device. With very small dimensions, the Segway uses the same space as a pedestrian and can go in pedestrian only areas. Furthermore, it is specially designed to be a smart, ecological means of transport in the city.
How does it operate?
Dynamic stabilization enables the Segway to work seamlessly with body movement. Gyroscopic and tilt sensors enable the Segway to control the center of gravity of the user at 100 times per second. This way, when the rider shifts their weight forward, the Segway moves forward, and when the rider shifts their weight backwards, the Segment moves in the same direction, acting as an extension of the rider’s body.
Is the Segway safe for children and people with disabilities
Learning how to use the Segway is very easy and safe; however we do require that riders be at least 10 years old. Riders must also weigh between 40 and 120 kilos, and be able to climb and descend steps without need of assistance.
