Mirador de Colón, enjoy the incredible views of Barcelona by climbing the monument dedicated to Christopher Columbus (1452–1506), 60 meters above the ground.

Located at the end of Las Ramblas beside the sea, it was inaugurated in 1888 during the International Exhibition held in the city.

The monument pays tribute to Christopher Columbus, who chose to disembark in the port of Barcelona on his return from America.

Inside the column, there is a lift that lets you access the viewpoint, 60 meters above the ground, where you can admire magnificent views of Barcelona.

Panoramic views of Barcelona from the Mirador de Colom:

  • If you look north, you’ll see the Gothic Quarter and the city’s historic buildings; the bell towers of the Cathedral, Santa Maria del Mar and La Mercè, the bustling Rambla, which meanders up to Plaça de Catalunya and marks the entrance to the Eixample district, where you’ll find the city’s main modernist landmarks and Gaudí’s Sagrada Família.
  • If you look east, following the coastline, you’ll be able to see the modern Parc del Fòrum in the distance with its Photovoltaic Cell and tall buildings. Nearby, the twin skyscraper towers flank the entrance to the Olympic Marina. The old harbor, Port Vell, and the modern commercial port are found below you at the foot of the monument.
  • If you look to the south, you’ll see Montjuïc mountain with its castle at the top. Montjuïc is also the home to museums, gardens, theaters and the Olympic Ring. Drassanes, the royal shipyards, house the Museu Marítim, is at the foot of the mountain.
  • If you look west, you’ll see the Collserola Natural Park, the vast green corridor surrounding the city, with the Collserola communications tower and the Tibidabo Amusement Park standing out.

The Columbus Monument has a wheelchair accessible entrance on La Rambla.

  • Once inside, wheelchair users will have to transfer to a special chair, which will take them along the corridor and up in the lift to the top.
